Teaching agreements (GTC)

A. Teaching contents / Concept

Lessons are offered in concert guitar (classic guitar), acoustic (western) guitar (accompanying guitar) and electric guitar. Both children from 8 years of age and adults are taught. A total of eight highly qualified guitar teachers specializing in various subjects teach under the direction of Gerd Henkel.

As a rule, individual lessons are offered, group lessons (package "Duo", 2 persons) are also offered on request. Naturally, however, a duo lesson cannot be guaranteed unless a second student has registered for this form of instruction.

The aim of the lessons is to convey a long-term enjoyment of music making. Musical wishes will be taken into consideration as far as possible, provided that the technical/musical abilities of the student are sufficiently developed for this purpose.
Depending on the interest of the students, guitar ensembles are also offered, in which the students learn to make music together. The ensembles are put together on a project basis and according to the students' abilities.

The assignment of students to the different teachers is done by the principal Gerd Henkel and depends on several factors such as the teacher's specialization in specific lessons or instruments (electric guitar, acoustic guitar), as well as the capacities in the different locations.
Guitar lessons are offered on a space-available basis in the following locations: Vienna 19-Döbling (1190 Vienna, Hardtgasse 27/19), Vienna 1-City (Neutorgasse 5/18), Vienna 14-Penzing (Linzerstrasse 81), Vienna 22-Stadlau (1220 Vienna, Fahngasse 6, Atelier 20C), Vienna 23-Mauer (Schwarzwaldgasse 10-12/3/4) .

 

B. Making an appointment

At the beginning of the course, a fixed date per week is agreed for all teaching packages except "Single". This fixed date can only be changed after consultation and with the agreement of the teacher. However, also in the sense of mutual consideration (e.g. postponement of the lessons due to the absence of the teacher) we try to find the best possible date for the lessons in case of problems with the student's schedule.

 

C. Terms of payment, pricing

1) Semester packages

The monthly fee is an installment payment of the total course fee, divided 6 months per semester (if the course starts at the beginning of the semester, otherwise aliquot reduced). The number of teaching units cannot be freely agreed upon, but is calculated in such a way that, in the case of weekly classes, the course can be completed by the end of the semester - see chapter E.

The fee is due on the 15th of each month:

The due date and amount of payments can be found in receipt you get after signing the contract for the semester. The student will get a card which is used for recording the holding of lessons.

There is also the possibility of a one-time payment of the course price in advance with a 5% discount. It is assumed that 16 lessons per semester will be taken, which the school guarantees from its side (the number applies when the course starts at the very beginning of the semester).

The monthly fee is calculated as follows: Hourly rate * 16 units (per semester) / 6 months.
Example "Classic": 38 € * 16 / 6 = 101.33 € per month

A start during the school year naturally changes the number of teaching units. The course price and the number of instalments are then calculated individually.

2) Individual lessons ("Single")

Individual lessons (EUR 42.-) can only be paid in advance as packages of 5 or 10. There is no discount possibility for single lessons.

 

D. Default of payment

In case of non-payment the following steps will be taken:

1 week delay after due date: payment reminder by e-mail
2 weeks delay after due date: payment reminder by SMS

If after these two reminders the course fee has not been received by the end of the payment month, a reminder will be sent by registered letter and a flat-rate reminder fee of EUR 5 will be charged. In case of a longer delay we reserve the right to demand the outstanding course fee by legal action.

 

E. Cancellation of lessons

1) Semester packages "Classic", "Small, "Duo“

1 lessons per semester that the student misses will be made up at the end of the semester and are not considered completed. However, if the student cancels more than one lesson per semester, the lessons are considered to have been held. At the start of the semester-course it is possible to agree on two fixed dates on which no lessons are held (for example holidays of the student or other important private reasons).
In the case of group lessons ("Duo"), a lesson unit is considered completed when at least one of the students comes to class. For the absent student, the lesson unit is forfeited.
Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be made up on another day or at the end of the semester if possible. Should the teacher, through his or her fault or illness, not be able to hold the agreed number of lessons per semester, the student will be reimbursed for the missed lessons at the end of the course.

It is expressly pointed out that lessons cancelled by the student will only be refunded in cash for the following reasons: Serious, long-term illness or injury with hospitalization, or stay abroad of at least 1 month.

2) Individual lessons ("Single")

Cancellation of individual lessons the day before is free of charge, cancellation on the day of the lesson will be charged in full.

 

F. Cancellation of semester package, general contract cancellation

The courses end automatically at the end of the semester and are rescheduled with each semester. In case of early termination of the course by the student, the course fee will not be refunded. The student is obliged to refund the remaining price, this can still be done monthly or with a single payment. In the second case a discount of 10% will be granted.

 

G. Vacation regulation

Classes are based on the Viennese school vacations and take a break at the same time as all the usual vacation periods. Individual days of school autonomy are usually not free of lessons.
